First you will need to setup the Verisign "VIP Access" application. If you have not done this yet, please go to the following URL to decide how you would like to
Simply open the application from your phone and you will your Credential ID at the top and your current one-time password. For now we will ignore the password, but we need the Credential ID to place into the portal, so keep your phone at your side.
Next login to the portal as the user for which you would like to configure one-time password access by going to https://manage.softlayer.com.
Click on Security > External Authentication or go directly to https://manage.softlayer.com/Security/externalAuthentication and scroll down the page to see your External Authentication options. For now, there is a single option of "Verisign Identity Protection". Select it to move on to the next step.
Now you may enter the Credential ID that you see on your iPhone. Simply type in the letters and numbers as you see them and then click on "Place Order". You may finish out the standard ordering process and your additional security option will be automatically applied in just a few minutes.
When you receive the email stating the the transaction was processed
successfully, you can proceed to login to the portal as normal, but
after you submit your username and password, you will see a new screen
asking for your "security code". You will now need to open up your Verisign Identitiy Protection on your preferred device and provide the code that it displays to login.
Now you should be logged in to the portal as normal. Make sure that you never lose your original Verisign Identity Protection credential ID, otherwise you will not be able to access the portal. If you need further assistance, please call SoftLayer support for further assistance.
